The Bay of Quinte region is an active community with hundreds of kilometers of bike and walking trails and activities that will keep you active year-round.
The Quinte Sports & Wellness Centre is a state-of-the-art community centre that has three pools, four ice rinks, a gym, walking track and several other active spaces. The facility welcomes more than 30,000 people every month and was opened in 2012. The building is a hub of activity nearly every day with thousands of people swimming, skating and enjoying other events and activities.
There are local YMCA’s in Belleville and Quinte West where members and guests can swim, use the gym and other active facilities. There are several fitness clubs and other exercise and dance facilities in the area as well to keep you active and fit.
The Quinte region has several soccer and football fields as well as ice rinks in the winter months. Mary Ann Sills Park in Belleville has a football field with stadium lights as well as a running track.
The Wellington and District Community Centre recently opened in Prince Edward County and is host to many community events throughout the year. The Wellington Dukes junior hockey team plays in this facility from October to April.
Quinte West also has several indoor and outdoor activity facilities, including Centennial Park, which hosts a mini-golf centre and skate park. The Quinte West Hawks junior hockey team plays in the Duncan McDonald Memorial Centre, which is located at Centennial Park.
The Batawa ski hill is another popular activity spot in the winter months. They offer skiing and snowboarding passes and lessons for new skiers.
