The Empire Theatre is the centre of entertainment for the Bay of Quinte region. After sitting dormant for years, the Empire was restored a decade ago and since then has welcomed hundreds of thousands of fans to watch world-class musical performances, theatre, comedians and other entertainers in Downtown Belleville.
In addition to the 700-seat indoor venue, the Empire Theatre hosts Rockfest every summer in the adjacent parking lot. This event annually attracts some of North America’s top entertainers to sold out audiences during a three-night music festival. It’s one of the can’t-miss events on the local entertainment calendar.
The Regent Theatre in Downtown Picton is another entertainment jewel in the region. The Regent has hosted performances for nearly a century and underwent a major renovation in 2011. The facility screens movies and welcomes music, theatre and other live performance events throughout the year.
The Stirling Festival Theatre is located just north of Quinte West and Belleville in the village of Stirling. The Stirling Festival Theatre stages live theatre performances throughout the year including the very popular Pantos during the holiday season.
People in the Bay of Quinte region love watching Hollywood movies and have the chance to watch them at multiplexes in Belleville and Quinte West as well as the Mustang Drive-In, a throwback to the 1950’s 60’s era where people sit in their cars and watch first-run movies on the big screen during the summer months.
