The Bay of Quinte Business Community

Quinte Business Development Commission (QBDC) is a group of organizations that help businesses grow and offer many services for entrepreneurs, new businesses, local companies, and businesses that want to move to the area. The links below will take you to the various services offered all located in the same building at Loyalist College.

Community Futures of Prince Edward is a community group that helps the local economy grow by investing in important projects. They give advice and money to people with new ideas and projects that can make a big difference in the community.

The Eastern Ontario Innovation Corridor (EOIC) connects startups and SMEs to business resources, support and learning networks across Eastern Ontario in one all-inclusive system to overcome barriers, scale and succeed.

Economic Development Departments

An economic development department is a part of the local government that helps the area grow and create jobs. They work to bring new businesses to the community and support the ones already there. They do things like plan projects, help with training programs, and promote the area to get more investment. Their goal is to make the community a better place to live and work by improving the local economy.

Chambers of Commerce

A Chamber of Commerce is a group of local business people who work together to help businesses in their community. They organize events, provide advice, and help businesses grow. The Chamber of Commerce also talks to the government to make sure the needs of businesses are heard. It’s a way for businesses to support each other and make the community a better place to live and work.

Quinte West is located on the Bay of Quinte at the mouth of the Trent River, serving as the gateway to the Trent-Severn Waterway which connects Georgian Bay to Lake Ontario. Boating, fishing and other watersport activities are very popular here.
