Numerous places of worship serving many different denominations can be found in the Quinte region.

Buddhism

The first Tibetan family settled in the region in the 1970s, marking the beginning of Tibetan Buddhism practice in the area. Today, there are several options for practicing Tibetan Buddhism in the region.

Orgyan Osal Cho Dzong is a Buddhist retreat centre and temple located in the serene countryside of Madoc, Ontario, in the Bay of Quinte region. Established in 1988 by Ven. Lama Namse Rinpoche, the temple serves as a prominent center for the practice and study of Tibetan Buddhism, specifically the Nyingma tradition.

Bokar Karma Tara Ling in Belleville, Ontario, Canada, is a Tibetan Buddhist meditation center affiliated with the Karma Kagyu lineage. It serves as a place for spiritual practice and community gatherings within the local Tibetan Buddhist community.

Christianity

The Bay of Quinte region in Ontario features a diverse range of churches, including traditional Anglican, Catholic, and Presbyterian denominations. Modern evangelical and non-denominational churches offer contemporary worship in more minimalist settings. The region also has culturally specific congregations like Ukrainian Catholic and Greek Orthodox churches, adding to the area’s rich religious mosaic and multicultural identity.

Judaism

The Sons of Jacob Synagogue and Congregation is the centre of the Jewish Community in the Quinte region, serving Belleville, Trenton, Prince Edward County and the surrounding area.

Islam

In the Bay of Quinte region, the presence of mosques is somewhat limited but significant for the local Muslim community. The primary mosque in this area is the Belleville Masjid, operated by the Islamic Society of Belleville. Located in Belleville, this mosque serves the broader Bay of Quinte area, including communities like Prince Edward County and Trenton. The Belleville Masjid not only provides a place for daily prayers but also hosts various religious events and educational sessions, reflecting the growing diversity and inclusive spirit of the region.

Sikh

In the City of Belleville, there is the Gurudwara Guru Nanak Darbar, a Sikh temple, which serves as a religious and cultural hub for the Sikh community​.

Quinte West is located on the Bay of Quinte at the mouth of the Trent River, serving as the gateway to the Trent-Severn Waterway which connects Georgian Bay to Lake Ontario. Boating, fishing and other watersport activities are very popular here. This community has a mix of urban and rural living, with an abundance of opportunities to get outdoors and active in the parks and green spaces.
