Citizenship ceremonies

Taking the Oath of Citizenship at a citizenship ceremony is your final step to become a Canadian citizen. Citizenship ceremonies take place across the country and at all times of the year. There are special ceremonies on Canada Day and during Citizenship Week.

Quinte West Citizenship Ceremony

In partnership with the Department of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada, the City of Quinte West hosts the Canadian Citizenship Ceremony at Quinte West City Hall Council Chambers. This ceremony welcomes new Canadians who take the Oath of Citizenship to officially become Canadian citizens. A Citizenship Ceremony is a rite of passage that celebrates the moment someone joins the Canadian family and is the final step in the process of becoming a Canadian citizen. During the ceremony the new citizens received a Canadian Citizenship Certificate. The ceremony also provided Canadians in attendance with the unique opportunity to proclaim their commitment to Canada by repeating the Oath of Citizenship along with the new citizens. This annual ceremony welcomes anywhere from 20 – 50 new citizens.
