Immigration Services

Numerous free services are available to assist with immigration and settlement. Immigration services can help you understand the immigration process, while settlement services support your adjustment to the community and address your specific needs.

Quinte Immigration Services

Quinte Immigration Services is a government funded settlement service that assists newcomers (immigrants, refugees and displaced persons in the Quinte region) to settle in the area. QUIS provides orientation, information and referrals for newcomers who might feel isolated by cultural or language barriers. QUIS encourages public respect for the diversity of immigrants and the promotion and recognition of the value of racial and cultural differences.  The goal is to help newcomers integrate and participate in the social, economic and cultural aspects of the community.

Quinte Local Immigration Partnership

The Quinte Local Immigration Partnership (QLIP) is a group made up of local employers, non-profits, government agencies, schools, and healthcare and legal services. They work together to make the area welcoming for newcomers. They want to help use the skills and experience of newcomers to make the community better. They also support employers in hiring and keeping newcomers as important team members.

Settlement.Org

The Settlement.Org website provides newcomers with information and resources to settle in Ontario, Canada. It is an electronic community where newcomers can get information, read relevant news, ask their questions and share their experiences with others, and access a database of community organizations.

Learn how foreign workers, international students or business owners from outside of Canada can apply for permanent residence in Ontario, or how Ontario businesses can recruit international talent.

ACFOMI (Association des Communautés Francophones de l’Ontario et des Municipalités Indépendantes)

ACFOMI is an organization that supports French-speaking communities and promotes their needs and interests in Ontario, Canada. It can also help if you would like to use french as your language of preference at any point during the immigration process.

Quinte West is located on the Bay of Quinte at the mouth of the Trent River, serving as the gateway to the Trent-Severn Waterway which connects Georgian Bay to Lake Ontario. Boating, fishing and other watersport activities are very popular here. This community has a mix of urban and rural living, with an abundance of opportunities to get outdoors and active in the parks and green spaces.
