As a leader in Ontario in curriculum development our students have an excellent record for admissions to colleges and universities in Canada. Over 95 percent of our students who apply to postsecondary institutions are accepted to their first choice. Each year our graduates are recognized nationally and provincially.
Our International Student Program (ISP) is open to all students from Grades 7 to 12. With eight secondary and 46 elementary schools, the Hastings and Prince Edward District School Board covers a wide geographical area of 7,221 square kilometres.
We offer excellent programs which prepare our students to meet global challenges. Our program is selective and limited in numbers. To qualify the applicant requires a minimum of a “C” and must have a letter of recommendation from teachers or principal on his or her moral character and work ethic.
Algonquin and Lakeshore Catholic District School Board
The Algonquin and Lakeshore Catholic District School Board is pleased to offer a full range of academic programs for international students from Grades 9 - 12, leading to an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD).
Our International Education program provides a variety of services to our international students, making their time in Canada as enjoyable and educational as possible.
Homestays can be arranged through the program, providing students extra opportunities to practice English and engage in Canadian culture, all within a safe, caring and supportive environment.
Students can study a variety of subjects, including French, English, geography, chemistry, physics, biology, environmental science, physical education, arts and technology and religion. English as a Second Language (ESL) courses are offered as well and are included in the regular school program.
