Jaysinh Vaghela: India
Written by Garrett Harvey

Jaysinh Vaghela is a new Canadian who immigrated from India to the Bay of Quinte region in September of 2018 to pursue an education in Global Business Management at Loyalist College.
After graduating, Jaysinh started working at RBC as a Client Advisor, later being promoted to Banking Advisor, then to Financial Advisor, and now works as a Mortgage Specialist. In addition to his banking career, Jaysinh is also a partner at BayLeaf, a local downtown Belleville Indian cuisine restaurant.

Jaysinh’s transition to life in Canada wasn’t easy at first. Moving to a new country at just 20 years old, he faced many cultural differences. But, he overcame those difficulties by embracing Canadian culture and making friends who grew up in the Bay of Quinte region. Jaysinh says his biggest piece of advice is to keep an open mind. “By keeping an open mind, and respecting the Canadian culture, the community will welcome and support you through your journey,” Jaysinh said.
Jaysinh chose Belleville as his new home because of the sense of familiarity and community, which reminded him of the small town where he grew up in India. It’s this sense of belonging that inspires Jaysinh to continue to grow in his career and to become more involved with local non-profits, allowing him to give back to the community he now calls home.
