Katsiaryna Austin: Belarus

A photo of a young woman with long hair wearing a black toque standing at a lookout overlooking a city staring into the camera.

My name is Katsiaryna Austin. I am a designer and design teacher from Belarus.

In September 2023, I flew to Canada under the spousal sponsorship program to reunite with my husband and begin building our future together in his homeland. We live in Quinte West in Frankford. This is a very beautiful and calm area. We love this place. Most of all we like the safety and nice people around us.

I traveled a lot to different countries and finally I found my home and started a family in Canada. I recently started studying at Loyola School in Belleville to improve my English level. This is a wonderful school with helpful teachers and friendly students. I enjoy our classes and am grateful to the Canadian government for providing me with the opportunity to attend this school for free.

In the future, I plan to go to college and acquire a new profession that is useful for society. I am happy to live safely in Canada with my husband and my new family.

QW:
Quinte West is located on the Bay of Quinte at the mouth of the Trent River, serving as the gateway to the Trent-Severn Waterway which connects Georgian Bay to Lake Ontario. Boating, fishing and other watersport activities are very popular here. This community has a mix of urban and rural living, with an abundance of opportunities to get outdoors and active in the parks and green spaces.
